David Zimmer nominates Roxanne Garraway for a Young Woman of Distinction Award

WILLOWDALE - David Zimmer, MPP for Willowdale, announced his nomination of Roxanne Garraway

who has excelled as an artist and serves as a role-model for other young women," said Mr. Zimmer.
"I am very proud to make her my nominee this year."

Growing up below the poverty line, Roxanne and

Roxanne is passionate about humanitarian work
and is interested in utilizing creative outlets to engage with complex social justice issues.
Roxanne is currently completing an internship with
235 Films and hopes to become a filmmaker.

If awarded the YWCA Young Woman of Distinct ion Award, Roxanne plans to use the $3,000 award grant to fund her participation in a six-month international photography workshop in Brazil that engages underprivileged youth.
